The Fox 21 is the 21-watt model from a line of D-Style amplifiers from New Jersey that also sit right at home in Las Vegas. Based on the company’s famous OD and TD tones, this amp ranges from full, punchy cleans to rock and roll edge. A jack-of-all-trades, the Fox 21’s balanced tone fits a range of styles but shines especially with bluesy drive coming from its 6V6 Class AB circuit. The simple controls meant only a handful of gain stages were to be found in this amp so, to push it outside of its normal boundaries, we ran our KoT clone in front for a couple of extra profiles (marked “KB”). The Fox 21’s American tones paired nicely with a P12Q/Gold speaker combo for a full, balanced sound through our own Selah Sounds oversized 2x12 cabinet.
